Date: Wednesday, July 16, 2025
Time: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: INTI EDITIONS, 2 Rue des Bernadaous, 65200 Aste
Description:
Designed specifically for children aged 7 to 12, this event introduces young participants to the world of books not just as readers, but as creators. Children’s Story Creation Day is a playful, interactive journey that culminates in every child writing, illustrating, and binding their own short story.
Morning Activities (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM):
The morning begins with a group storytime featuring animated readings of illustrated children’s books. These readings are followed by a brief discussion encouraging children to identify what makes a story interesting—characters, settings, beginnings and endings.
Next, children participate in a guided storytelling workshop titled “Your World, Your Tale.” Using visual prompts and imagination cards, each child will develop a short story idea. Professional children’s writers and illustrators from our local network will provide assistance and encouragement, helping each child turn their idea into a structured tale.
Lunch Break (12:30 PM – 1:30 PM):
A supervised, picnic-style lunch will be offered in our courtyard. Parents are welcome to join or drop off packed lunches for their children. Healthy snacks and drinks will be available on-site.
Afternoon Activities (1:30 PM – 4:30 PM):
The afternoon is all about creation. Each child receives a “Story Maker Kit” containing blank booklets, colored pencils, markers, collage materials, and stickers. They will illustrate their stories and design personalized covers. Staff and volunteers will help staple and bind their work using simple tools.
At the end of the day, there will be a mini “book launch” where children can present their story to parents and other participants. Everyone leaves with their own illustrated storybook, a participation certificate, and a new perspective on what it means to be an author.
Conclusion:
This event not only fosters literacy and creativity, it also encourages self-expression and pride in one’s work. For INTI EDITIONS, it’s another way to make the editorial process accessible and joyful for even the youngest minds.
