Date: Saturday, September 13, 2025
Time: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: INTI EDITIONS, 2 Rue des Bernadaous, 65200 Aste
Description:
This special literary evening celebrates diversity of thought, language, and literary forms through a reading marathon open to the public. Voices That Matter is both a cultural gathering and a participatory platform for writers, poets, translators, and readers.
Program Schedule:
Opening Remarks (2:00 PM – 2:30 PM):
A short welcome presentation by the president of INTI EDITIONS explains the purpose of the event and its connection to our mission: amplifying diverse voices in publishing and the public domain.
Afternoon Readings (2:30 PM – 6:00 PM):
Local and regional authors read selections from their published or in-progress works—fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and hybrid texts. Readings will take place in 20-minute slots with time in between for questions or open commentary. All readings are accompanied by printed handouts for easier follow-along, and some include projected text on screen.
Potluck Dinner (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM):
Community members are invited to bring dishes for a shared potluck dinner in the garden. The shared meal fosters informal conversation and connection among readers, writers, and visitors.
Evening Readings (7:30 PM – 10:00 PM):
The second session features translated works and multilingual readings. Translators and bilingual speakers will present poetry and prose in both original and translated languages. This will include collaborative performances, subtitled readings, and visual poetry.
Conclusion:
Each guest will receive a printed event booklet listing the readings and contributors. The aim is to promote shared literary experiences and spotlight the power of public reading as a cultural act.
